As one of the oldest hotels in Germany, built in 1332, the Alte Thorschenke has welcomed guests from all over the world for centuries. It was in these historic walls that the Emperor Napoleon once slept on his campaign for Silesia in the 17th century, and once the monarch Maria Theresa from Austria. They liked Cochem so much that they had their personal beds set up in the Hotel Alten Thorschenke.
