From the Autobahn A4 Eisenach/Dresden, exit Arnstadt/Ilmenau: 1. route: towards Gehren to Neustadt am Rennsteig, then thru Neustadt am Rennsteig to the intersection in Kahlert and follow the signs to Masserberg. 2. route: In Ilnemau across the Gabelbach to the Rennsteig. Past the Auerhahn to Drei Herrenstein to Neustadt am Rennsteig, then as above. 3. Coburg: A73 to the B281 towards Masserberg.
