Afternoon Tea is offered each day and meals-which are included in the rate-are served in our Main Dining Room. Mackinac Island does not allow motorized vehicles-bicycles and horse and carriage carry guest around the island. The movie Somewhere in Time was filmed at Grand Hotel starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve. We are a Stay Safe hotel. Commercial air service is available daily from Northwest Airlink through Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Air service is also available to Traverse City, Michigan, located approximately one-and-a-half hours southwest of Mackinaw City. ## Directions by Air: (N) COMMERCIAL AIRLINESMackinac Island is served by the Pellston, Michigan Airport located 12 miles south of Mackinaw City. Commercial air service is available daily from Northwest Airlink through Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. From there a ferry will take you over to Mackinac Island. ## Mackinac Island Airport: (N) The Mackinac Island Airport has a 3,500 foot, lighted, paved runway, capable of handling private and charter aircraft. The airport is located just one mile from Grand Hotel. Horse-drawn taxi service from the airport to Grand Hotel and return is readily available. ## By Ferry: (N) To Mackinac Island can be accessed by driving to Mackinac City (on Michigan´s lower peninsula) or St Ignace (upper peninsula).
