Arriving by car
At the Maxim we suggest you to follow these car itineraries. We decline any responsabilities for fines and for changes in the street assets. Please bear in mind that we highly recommend you take exit Firenze Certosa (only present on Highway A1)as it is far the best and only easy way to reach the Florence city centre. If you are travelling on the highway A1 from Milan or Rome · We recommend you take Florence’s highway exit Uscita Firenze Certosa. · Drive around the roundabout (almost full 360°) and follow the signs for CENTRO (town centre). · Drive around the roundabout (almost full 360°) and follow the signs for CENTRO (town centre). · Drive up the hill, on your left you’ll see the Florence’s abbey the “Certosa”, drive through a village called “Galluzzo”, keep on driving one more km through an alley with lots of gasoline stations. · Turn right at the traffic light. The road goes up the hill; at the second traffic light turn left (into “Via Poggio Imperiale ”) and drive down to “Piazza di Porta Romana”. · Pass under the arch of the medieval city walls (there’s a camera), you just entered the Via Romana. Follow the street straight into Via Maggio, pass over the Santa Trinita Bridge, keep driving straight in ahead in Via Tornabuoni . Now a critical drive begins into Florence ’s city centre: drive slowly, make sure you get the right turnings: · Pass a traffic light, go straight into Piazza Antinori, then make a right turn in the little street on your right side - just after a bus stop in a very narrow street - called “Via degli Agli”. (mind that if the bus is stopped in front of you,you should wait until it drives away and then drive on the right side of the San Gaetano Church in via degli Agli). · At the STOP sign go straight ahead and enter the pedestrian zone in Via dei Pecori – drive s lowly, you can see the Duomo in front of you, turn right into the second street on your right Via Roma, keep driving straight ahead, turn the second left street in Via degli Speziali, then again second left. · You are now on Via dei Calzaiuoli. Get close to the left side of the street, just stop your car at the door entrance of the hotel: a wooden old door at number 11 (in blu letters), immediately after the Disney Store. Ring the bell, push the door and unload your luggage inside the door. Lock your car and come to the reception with the elevator, we’ll then call the garage for you. If you are travelling on the Highway Firenze Mare (Autostrada A11) 1° itinerary: exit “Firenze- Certosa” (Autostrada A1) Before you reach the toll at “Firenze-Nord”,we suggest you take the A1 branch in the direction Roma. Next exit will be “Firenze-Certosa”. Take this exit (“Firenze-Certosa”): from now on follow the upper directions.
Arriving by public transportation
Hotel Maxim is only 900 metres away from Florence Central Station (Santa Maria Novella or S.M.N.) * Taxi: There are several Taxis waiting at the exits of the Central Station, the ride to the Hotel Maxim is quite short, and is likely to cost around 10 Euro. * On foot: Coming out from the left hand side of the Central Station, you will find an escalator leading to an underground shopping street. Go straight and walk all the shopping area until you reach a set of stairs in front of you. Climb the stairs to find yourself in Via Panzani. Keep going straight, Via Panzani will become Via de´ Cerretani and eventually, at around seven hundred meters ahead, you will see the Duomo and Battistero. Walk in front of the Duomo Cathedral looking at the entry gates. On the right hand side you will see a crowded street, that is Via Calzaiuoli. Hotel Maxim is on the right hand side a few meters ahead. IMPORTANT: Florence Campo di Marte Station and Florence Rifredi Station and Florence Campo di Marte Station are two smaller local train stations, outside the historical centre. If you happen to travel to those please check out the local bus serviceFrom Florence Airport – Amerigo Vespucci: * Taxi: Taxis are available outside the arrival terminal at the airport. The ride is approximately fifteen minutes and will take you directly in front of the door of the hotel. Cost of Taxis might vary depending on the time of the day and traffic congestion, but it is approximately 25 Euro. * Shuttle bus: There is a shuttle bus service “Vola in Bus”, at the cost of 4,5 Euro (ticket must be purchased on board). The shuttles connect the airport to the Central Station every thirty minutes until 23:30.. Taxis are also available in front of the exits.
